H.MA.S. Watson Refurbishment Works

PCB was engaged by Defence Maintenance Management to complete the required refurbishment of Buildings 003 & 006 at the H.M.A.S. Watson site, on Sydney Harbour.

The two buildings had fallen in to disrepair, and given their essential functions; accommodation and dining / recreational; their continued serviceability was critical.

The works were carried out across all aspects of the buildings, including: Floor Coverings, Polished Timber Flooring, External Balustrades, Kitchen fixtures and fittings, Bathroom fixtures and fittings, new Changing Rooms, Electrical & Data, Reconfiguration of Walkways and Internal Spaces, Roofing, Waterproofing, Drainage, Painting, Rust Treatment, Framing, Eave Linings, Security (Physical & Electrical), Fire Services, Door Hardware, and much more.

Given the wide and varied nature of the works, multiple subcontractors and specialists were involved, as such proper supervision and management were essential throughout.

PCB closely liaised with DMM, Base Management, Base Services Contractors, and the Royal Australian Navy in ensuring that the works were staged in a manner that ensured essential services such as accommodation and dining were not impeded by the works.

The project was completed to schedule, within budget, and without delay or incident.
