PCB was engaged by Brookfield Multiplex Services to carry out the upgrade of various buildings, and fire safety systems, within the Randwick Barracks site. The purpose of the works was to afford the site with conformity to current BCA, DDA, and MFPE requirements.
The works were spread across buildings with many varied functions. This necessitated continual thorough communication throughout the project so as to ensure its smooth progression.
A notable inclusion in the project was the replacement of the main fire panel for the entire base; upon which all other fire panels throughout the site were dependent. Given the criticality of the installation, its replacement was carried out over night in shift patterns so as to ensure that the least risk was presented, and the works were completed as quickly as feasible.
The works incorporated: Hydrants, Hose Reels, Alarm Acknowledgement Facilities, Smoke Detectors, Door Hold-Open Devices, Fire Doors, Door Hardware, Smoke Sealing, Electrical RCD Protection, Signage, Emergency Lights, Exit Lights, Fire (compartment) Separation, Addressable FIP, and much more.
All works were completed to schedule, and within budget. PCB also provided for the final certification of the works.
