PCB was engaged by Brookfield Multiplex Services to carry out the upgrade of various buildings, and fire safety systems, within the Garden Island precinct so as to afford the structures with conformity to current BCA, DDA, and MFPE requirements.
The concerned works were spread out over many buildings with very different functions such as; Warehouses, Office Spaces, Security, Defence Contractor Buildings, and Military usage. As such the specific requirements in each case were very different.
Another factor was the Heritage status of a number of the buildings involved, where Heritage practice must be conformed to as well as Building Code requirements.
The works incorporated: Hose Reels, Sprinklers, Smoke Detectors, Fire Doors, Occupant Warning Systems, Ventilation, Door Hardware, Smoke Sealing, Electrical RCD Protection, Signage, Emergency Lights, Exit Lights, Warden Intercom Phones, and much more.
All works were completed to schedule, and within budget. PCB also provided for the final certification of each building.
