PCB was engaged by Defence Maintenance Management to carry out the removal of identified Asbestos Containing Materials from within the Randwick Barracks site; and then to remediate the affected buildings with new replacement non Asbestos containing alternate materials.
The works were wide and varied, and provided for both Bonded and Friable works. The works included such items as:
Fire Doors, Wall & Ceiling Linings, Electrical Backing Boards, Gaskets & Sealants, Packing & Supports, Roofing, Expansion Joints, Cable Trays, Contaminated Soils, and much, much more.
All works were carried out in essential buildings across the site; including the base medical / dental centre, the gymnasium, the security office, and the main office. As such the careful and proper containment of the works was critical; as was proper communication with the buildings occupants.
All works were completed without a single incident or concern, and all removal works were independently verified and cleared by an appointed NATA accredited Hygienist.
