HAZMAT

Proven Performance

With a clear understanding of all safety risks, hazards and national requirements, PCB’s proven performance benchmarks us as a leader in all asbestos remediation works. We manage the safety, removal and disposal of hazardous materials such as lead paint and asbestos from large-scale commercial and industrial structures.

Accredited by WorkCover NSW and WorkSafe VIC and with over a decade of asbestos removal, PCB has provided extensive HAZMAT services for a range of high profile clients including the Department of Defence. Our broad expertise includes asbestos removal, lead paint chemical and soda blasting removal, hazardous materials, contaminated land, environment and waste management and risk management. We have boldly taken on challenging, complex projects that include difficult to access locations, sensitive heritage sites and high-security sites.

PCB is the registered HAZMAT consultant to NSW government agencies. In 2013 PCB consulted and assisted local emergency services with the asbestos removal operation in Malabar (Sydney, NSW) after storm winds of more than 100km/h partially ripped off the roof of the Malabar RSL and caused sheets of asbestos to fly onto nearby homes and roads.

Brookfield Global Integrated Solutions has once again achieved re-accreditation to the Office of Federal Safety Commission. This could not have been possible without the help of Puch Construction & Building. The effort and dedication to the OFSC process shown by your staff and yourself has truly been above and beyond. PCB have adapted their safety process, procedures and documentation to comply with our requirements to meet the strict OFSC standards and benchmarks.

The Museum is located in a heritage listed building, which is 162 years old. The work in the Museum involved the removal of hundreds of square meters of paint work from the internal walls, sandstone re-pointing, refurbishment, replacement of concrete, timber and linoleum floors, and painting. There was major work on the structural stabilisation of part of the building. All exhibition furniture was moved four times and collection items in storage (15,000 items) twice.

I have worked with PCB on a range of Heritage Projects in the past including those at; Spectacle Island, Victoria Barracks, Richmond RAAF Base, HMAS Penguin Naval Base. At all times I have found PCB to be professional, exacting and conscientious. I find that they are practical builders and aware of heritage legislation and instructions. I would not hesitate to recommend PCB for heritage work in the future.
